ARTIST BIOGRAPHYKeira Hudson is a mixed media artist based in Melbourne, Naarm. With a fascination for combining chemistry-based photography and soft textile processes, her artistic practice blends these diverse mediums into captivating works of art.
Each of Hudson's artworks is a testament to her dedication and commitment. She meticulously pours, develops, and varnishes her large format wet plates with hand mixed chemistry. She embraces the inherent labour and dedication required to master these methods, resulting in exquisite and unique plates that possess a sense of timelessness. Hudson crafts each element, prop, and costume, infusing her creations with a distinct otherworldly aesthetic. Through her art, Hudson explores a wide range of themes, from the beautiful to the surreal to the macabre. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, she embarks on a profound exploration of the complexities of her own misbehaving body and brain. Her artworks serve as a visual language, offering a means of navigation through which she expresses her innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Instagram: @keirahudsonartist
